The
Clinical Practice of Acupuncture is the first book on the subject
written by an Indian author and published in
India.
The book covers all aspects of acupuncture science at length.
Theories of acupuncture, anatomical description of acupuncture
points, ear acupuncture, scalp acupuncture, nose acupuncture, hand
acupuncture and foot acupuncture have been discussed in detail. The
book also covers the treatment of about 100 diseases by acupuncture
and also acupuncture anesthesia.
The noble feature of the book is the chapters on anatomy and
physiology which give basic information on acupuncture. It also
include chapters on human body and electricity, pulse stimulator
used for acupuncture therapy, magneto therapy and acupuncture and the
future of acupuncture in the Third world countries. These Chapters
have been specially contributed by the well known authorities on the
subject.
The basic material for the book has been collected by the first
author when on visit to
China,
Japan, Hong-Kong, Bangkok and SriLanka. He had first hand experience
of clinical practice there and read through original manuscripts
preserved in national museums and private possessions. The authors
have discussed the subject with world authorities in acupuncture
such as Dr. Anton Jaisuriya and Wilfred Perera of SriLanka, Dr.
Sidney Roseneil of U.K., Dr. L.K. Ding and Dr. C.K. Lo of Hong-Kong,
Dr. Takeshi Sewa, Dr. S.Yasuda, Dr. K. Nagayama, Dr. Mori of Japan
and Dr. G.M. Greenbaum of Australia.
The first author has vast experience of treating more than 20,000
patients of different ailments. He has also taught acupuncture
science to more than 2,000 doctors from different countries of the
world.
The co-author is a well known author of various medical chapters. He
is deeply associated with the subject of acupuncture and begin a
surgeon he has done lot of work in
India
on acupuncture anesthesia.
The book contains about 465 pages in 7¼" X 9½" with 195 figures and
diagrams. It is printed on art paper with hard cover full cloth
binding.
